Carlos Pinheiro Neto

Professor and Vice-Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, NYU Langone Health

Dr. Carlos Pinheiro Neto, MD, PhD, is an internationally recognized skull base surgeon specializing in endoscopic approaches, rhinology, and head and neck oncology. Originally from Brazil, he earned his medical degree from the Federal University of Ceara and a PhD in anatomy from the University of Sao Paulo. He completed advanced fellowship training in skull base surgical oncology, and craniomaxillofacial surgery. Formerly a professor, fellowship director and ENT Marketing Chair at Mayo Clinic, he now serves as vice-chair of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at NYU Langone Health. Dr. Pinheiro Neto is known for pioneering minimally invasive techniques that enhance skull base reconstruction and reduce patient morbidity. He has authored over 150 publications indexed on PubMed and is the author of a book on skull base reconstruction. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, he is also set to complete his MBA at the Carlson School of Management in the fall of 2025.
