Danny Levner

Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer, Board Member, Emulate, Inc. and Co-Founder and Chairman, Sight Diagnostics

Dr. Daniel Levner is a Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Emulate, Inc., a life-sciences company that creates advanced biological models of the human body for understanding how diseases, medicines and chemicals affect human health. The company’s products – Organ-Chips – have found diverse use in the pharmaceutical industry in the assessment of drug efficacy, safety and mechanism of action, with the promise of decreasing clinical-trial failure rates, reining in the costs of drug development and reducing the dependence on animal testing. Dr. Levner is also a Co-Founder of Sight Diagnostics, which produces compact blood analyzers that enable patients to receive their results in minutes instead of waiting days. Sight has accomplished this using deep expertise in AI combined with a unique new method for “digitizing blood”. Dr. Levner was formerly a Senior Staff Scientist at Harvard University's Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, where he led a multidisciplinary engineering team that developed foundational Organs-on-Chip technology. Prior to the Wyss Institute, Dr. Levner worked with world-renowned Harvard geneticist Prof. George Church in programs related to medical diagnostics, DNA/RNA sequencing and multiplexed biological sample analysis. Dr. Levner received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University as well as an M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics, also from Stanford. He has authored numerous publications and more than 70 issued and pending US patents.
