Joshua Habib

Senior Vice President | Covera Health

Joshua Habib is a healthcare executive (15 years at UnitedHealth Group) with a proven record of successfully growing and operating businesses across payer, provider and employer markets. With unique expertise in Medicare and elder care, Josh succeeds with integrity by looking around corners, walking toward challenges and creating collaborative partnerships. Josh is currently the Senior Vice President and Head of Medicare Growth at Covera Health, where he leads the revenue growth, marketing and sales operations functions. Covera uses AI in medical imaging to help patients get the care they deserve while improving Medicare Advantage plan performance. In this role, Josh has sourced and closed high-margin, scaled client partnerships with national and local health plans, driving sustainable growth by aligning provider networks, imaging utilization patterns, disease prevalence and coding, and the technology roadmap. Before joining Covera, Josh was Chief Operating Officer of Together Senior Health, where he led clinical and general operations, commercial growth, and client success for a value-based care company serving the 1 in 9 seniors with Alzheimer’s disease. Together was successfully acquired by Linus Health in 2024. Previously, Josh was a founding member of UnitedHealthcare’s (UHC) Group Retiree Medicare Advantage business, which organically and profitably grew to $18B in annual revenue (35% CAGR) during his tenure. He held leadership roles spanning growth, product, strategy, and total cost of care management. Among many notable contributions, Josh developed the retiree member reward program (achieving a 4.5-star rating for UHC’s largest CMS contract); established the go-to-market approach for national Medicare Advantage PPO products; sold the first UHC national group Medicare Advantage plan; and identified and closed product-market gaps leading to $3 billion in further sales. While at UHC, Josh received awards and honors including the Living the Values Award; 2-time Pinnacle winner (top sales performance); UnitedHealth Group Innovation Champion; and authorship of articles that were published in the UnitedHealth GroupEnterprise Research and Development portfolio. Josh started his health care career as a national Medicare expert at Towers Perrin, advising large employers on the strategy, design and funding of post-retirement benefit programs. Josh serves on the Board of Directors of the Health Care Transformation Task Force, a collaborative of health care leaders advancing value-based care. He also advises health care investment firms and growth-stage companies. Outside of work, Josh is active in organizations that preserve local history (Long Island, NY). He is an Admissions Ambassador for Cornell University, speaks to large groups of college and MBA students, and is proficient in French. Josh holds a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and an MBA from the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, City University of New York.
