Mike Pambianchi
Business Fellow, Breakthrough Energy
Michael Pambianchi is a science and technology executive focused on industrial R&D. He is currently a Business Fellow at Breakthrough Energy, an organization founded by Bill Gates to commercialize technologies that can significantly reduce CO2 emissions. He is also CEO of Industrion Technologies LLC, a firm providing advisory services and angel-round investment for new companies in tough tech. Mike spent 20 years at Corning Incorporated, most recently as Research Director of Glass Research. Under Mike’s leadership the group launched six generations of Gorilla® Glass, the leading cover glass for smartphones, and Valor® pharmaceutical vials, which received FDA approval in 2019. Earlier in his career Mike was a Member of Technical Staff at Hypres, Inc., a superconducting digital electronics company spun out of IBM. Mike has deep experience in building technical teams, leading scientists and engineers, and finding challenging problems that present opportunities to create value. Mike earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School, a PhD in Physics from the University of Maryland, and a BA in Physics from Cornell University.
