Neal Padte

SVP, Operator, Curie.Bio

Neal Padte is a biotech company builder and operator with over 15 years of experience in corporate strategy, operational execution, and drug development of first-in-class therapeutics and platform technologies. He is currently an SVP, Operator at Curie.Bio, a seed-stage venture capital firm and accelerator that has raised nearly $1B to help founders launch therapeutic companies. Before this, Neal was part of the founding teams and employee #1 at two biotechs - RenBio, a DNA-based platform technology company, and Astoria Biologica, a multiple sclerosis therapeutics company. RenBio was named one of DARPA’s “Biotech Startups of the Future,” and as President and COO, Neal played a key role in their >$35M raise from private investors, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and DARPA. At Astoria Biologica, Neal served as the Head of Operations & Strategy, building out their corporate infrastructure, running day-to-day operations, and overseeing their antibody drug discovery campaign. Prior to this, Neal was Director of Product Development at the world-renowned Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, where he led the development of 10E8.4/iMab, the first HIV bispecific antibody to be tested in humans and which received Fast Track designation by the U.S. FDA. He received the Early Career Investigator Award from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for his work during this period. Neal received his PhD in Cellular, Molecular and Biophysical Studies from Columbia University and his Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Boston University.
