Sebastian Barriga is the founder of milemark•capital, a Boston-based VC firm investing in early-stage AI startups founded by MIT scientists, researchers, students and professors. Throughout his career, he's invested in 30+ companies, which includes eight later-stage enterprises in his investment role at PE-firm The Carlyle Group. He's also worked on IPOs and mega M&A transactions in his role at Citi/Salmon in NY. Sebastian's is a member of the American Society for AI (ASFAI) and YPO, lectures at MIT assisting a Nobel Laureate; and mentors at various accelerators such as Techstars Boston, The Engine, NYU's EFL, MITdesignX and MIT delta v. He also serves on the advisory council for the MIT Visiting Fellows Program and two AI firms (Spain and Chile). He holds an MBA from MIT and a BBA from UT-Austin.
