Steve Socolof

Managing Partner, Tech Council Ventures

Steve Socolof is a Managing Partner with Tech Council Ventures, an early-stage investor across industries in the Mid-Atlantic region. He has been a technology investor for over twenty years. Steve’s interests are in enterprise software (particularly applications of AI/ML), data center to edge, internet of things, wireless, energy, environmental, and materials technologies. He is currently on the board of Adrich, Kintra Fibers, and SunRay Scientific. He was recently a director of Everspin (NASDAQ: MRAM), Stratis IoT (sold to RealPage), and Vydia (sold to Gamma). He has sold Airclic to Descartes Systems, Alverix to BD, Data Inventions to ECi Software, Flarion to Qualcomm, Neohapsis to Cisco, Silicon Hive to Intel, and Sychip to Murata. Steve is currently on the board of the National Venture Capital Association. Steve has also been a leader in the corporate venture community. He was Chair of the Corporate Venture Group within the National Venture Capital Association and on the Advisory Board of Global Corporate Venturing. Prior to TCV, Steve created a venture incubator for Lucent’s Bell Laboratories for 5 years. He later formed and ran New Venture Partners for 15 years where he invested in the commercialization of technologies spun out of corporate labs. Steve received his MBA from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth. He also received degrees in Economics and Mathematical Sciences from Stanford University.
