Victoria Chernow

Scientist, Climate & Energy / Investment Advisor | Science for America / Playground Global

Victoria Chernow is a Climate & Energy lead with the nonprofit solutions incubator Science for America (SfA). At SfA she works on developing and launching game-changing solutions around carbon dioxide utilization as an economic driver for GHG removal technologies. Prior to joining Science for America, Victoria was an investor with the early-stage deep tech venture fund Playground Global, where she focused on industrial transformation. She was previously a technologist with the strategic VC In-Q-Tel, focused on identifying and evaluating cutting-edge technologies with high national security impact, particularly in the areas of energy efficient manufacturing, electrification, and bioengineering. Victoria served as a Fellow at the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E), working on areas as varied as bioengineering for materials synthesis, decarbonization of the built environment, and next generation nuclear reactors. She is a former fellow of the Clean Energy Leadership Institute and Women Leaders in Energy Fellow at the Atlantic Council. Victoria received her PhD in Materials Science from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and BA in Chemistry from Harvard University.
